Doulos, Hodegos (Sun)

SUNDAY MORNINGS

9:00-10:15 AM  DOULOS  5th & 6th Grade Small Groups

"Doulos" is a Greek word meaning bondservant or bondslave to Christ. This is a program for those students who want to seriously study the scriptures and seek Christ in a more real way.  We meet together each Sunday morning for a time of teaching and then break into small groups for study and discussion.  Students are encouraged to participate and are challenged to pursue a deeper understanding of God's Word.

9:00-10:15 AM  HODEGOS  7th-12th Grades Open Group (Leadership)

What is Hodegos (HO-DAY-GÓS)?  Literally translated, it means “a leader of the way.”  Hodegos is about equipping students with the foundations of being a true Christian leader.  What does being a leader of the way look like?

  1. A leader of the way is first and foremost a follower of Jesus. Students will be digging into God’s Word and learning how to grow in their relationship with Him.
  2. A leader of the way is a servant. Students will discover, develop and utilize their spiritual gifts in serving opportunities both inside and outside the walls of the church.
  3. A leader of the way is involved in leadership in his/her local church.  Developing leadership skills and helping students understand the differences between attending youth group and leading others are integral priorities of Hodegos.
  4. A leader of the way is a minister of the gospel everywhere s/he goes.  Hodegos helps students recognize and take advantage of opportunities to share the gospel where they live, learn and play.
