Prayer and Fasting

Why Are We Fasting?

Because all people everywhere need Jesus and a great church where they can grow in their faith, we are on a mission to bring the transforming life and love of Jesus to every generation of our members, neighbors, and the nations through the power of the Gospel offered in word, deed, and sign.

Our vision and mission can’t be accomplished in our strength or by our wisdom. We offer ourselves in service to God but only God makes that service fruitful. We need to recall that we depend on his grace and his Spirit to do his work in and through us.

The Scriptures say, “If my people who are called by my Name will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

We are excited to begin this journey of prayer and fasting together and acknowledge our dependence on God’s mercy and power to strengthen us, awaken us, and show his love through us. We also acknowledge our own need to turn away from sin and idols, to see Christ’s image formed in our lives, to grow in our love for Jesus & one another, and discover God’s power flowing in and through us in deep renewal.

  • CityHouse Delray

The story of CityHouse began with a few families who were providing temporary shelter for children through a program called Safe Families. This program helps divert children from being placed in the child welfare system while the mothers seek to re-establish themselves so that once again they may care for their own children. Effective care was provided to the children apart from their mothers, while a desire to do more for their mothers was ignited.
